An Example of False Biblical Teaching on the Internet

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

The following article, taken as an image off the internet, is an example of how a secular writer can present his version of the Bible. Clearly, he does not think the Bible is the word of God or he would not tamper with it.

This does not make him a “bad man” merely an opinionated one. The scripture says the natural man receives not the things of the spirit of God, neither does he know them because they are spiritually discerned.

Those who believe the Bible is God’s word – literally “God-Breathed” is the Greek phrase – know that the Bible is the correct version. God had over 4,000 years to edit it for typos and billions of people worldwide accept it as a complete book. If there is anything wrong with it, it is due to the interpretations and assumptions that men develop to explain or explain away parts they do not understand.

All information in the world today has been bastardized or redacted – a nice word for “messed with,” and the Bible is no exception.

In this case, the writer is simply a person who does not see God in this book. For those of us who regard it as God’s revelation to mankind, it is, of course correct.

If the name “Lucifer” in Ancient Greek means morning star, light bringer, etc., how come the name is used to describe the Devil?
The word Lucifer appears only once in certain translations of the Bible. It’s a translation of the words shining one, he lel, הֵילֵ֣ל in Hebrew, found at Isaiah 14:12:
“How you have fallen from heaven,
O shining one, son of the dawn!”
However, this does not refer to the Devil at all, but rather to, as we are told in verse 4, “the king of Babylon”.
While the haughty and presumptuous kings of Babylon frequently reflected the proud attitude of Satan, and in the cases of Nebuchadnezzar and Belshazzar faced divine abasement as a result, this verse and indeed chapter is not addressed to or referring to the Devil directly.

The above came from Quora.

My comment: Meanwhile, Lucifer received his name because he was standing behind God’s throne in the original divine and spirit creation and the reflection on him went to his ego-head. As we say in the South – “Uppity.” He challenged God. And lost his place of eminence. He is now the originator and catalyst for evil on earth and in the 2nd heaven. He will be dealt with. And he no longer has any light, reflected or otherwise. And yes, this passage does refer to the devil in his original form.
