What Would Jesus (Yahshua) have Us Do

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Not too long ago people were asking What Would Jesus Do. Sometimes I wonder what the answer would be for ordinary Christians – would it be raising the dead, casting out demons, healing the sick, teaching the Bible, leading around a few disciples? Facing death for who we are and what we do?

Some people actually do that. 10,000 Christians are killed every year for their faith. Many other do preach and teach, hold Bible schools, finance and staff NGOs, non-governmental organizations, which do the work of Christ without the religious message at all, like Doctors Without Borders.

But there is an answer here. And Yahshua gave it to us in several passages:

I came to do His Will

Matthew 12:50 For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother.

This is a key. We are to do Yahweh’s will, not a general sort of will but a specific will. Yahshua said that whatever Yahweh wanted Him to say, that is what He said. Whatever Yahweh wanted him to do, that is what he did.

Can you say that? Is what you are speaking and doing those things Yahweh wants you to say and do? And worse yet, what about all the things you say and do that you are pretty sure Yahweh does not want you doing?

Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

We are not required to be full time ministers but we are to be able to give an answer for our faith, in public, before witnesses. Yes, it might cost us, but God expects that His people will give Him the honor He is due.

Matthew 10:33 But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.

And a major key – forgiveness. Many cultures do not recognize the importance of forgiveness. It is the key to freeing you from your bondage to another person’s sins.

Matthew 18:35 So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.

That at the very least is what you can do.
